Welcome to my website! Exploring it gives you a chance to learn about me and the ways I work with people.
For more than 40 years I have enjoyed working with couples, families, individuals and children dealing with a wide spectrum of issues. My goal is for you to expand your self-awareness and insight so you can see the patterns you get caught in that go against fulfilling your needs. I can help you sort out the things that trouble you, understand what caused the situation you are in right now, and learn to live a happier, more peaceful and loving life.
The techniques I use in therapy help people understand their emotions as well as learn skills to have more satisfying relationships and a greater sense of well-being. The methods of treatment include evidence-based strategies (techniques that have evidence to show they work), such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as techniques of mindfulness that can help you become more aware of yourself and the aspects you want to change. My work emphasizes personal development and is collaborative, supportive and helps to draw out your own inner wisdom.
The areas that I work with are broad and include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, post-traumatic stress, chronic illness, and relationship problems of any kind, such as marital or parent-child conflict. The relationship issues may be from the past, such as with parents or siblings from your family of origin (the family you grew up in); or, they may involve difficulties you are dealing with today where you need to learn problem-solving techniques to use with family, neighbors, or co-workers.
Since our collective experience with Covid 19, my work shifted to using tele-health and has been very effective despite not being in the room with my clients. Due to the success of that, I have opted to let go of my office and continue to work using tele-health only.
For your information I have included several handouts and links to websites that may be helpful for you.
If you have questions, you can call me to discuss your problem over the phone. I will let you know if I can help you and give you an idea of how I would approach your concerns.
