Fees, Insurance

Confidentiality:  By law, your counseling involvement is confidential unless I have your written permission to speak to another person or agency.  Exceptions include if you are in danger of hurting yourself or another, or if I have learned about child/elder abuse or neglect.  I keep paper files in a locked cabinet and have electronic files protected by passwords.

Insurance:  I am a preferred provider with many insurance companies and depending on your insurance benefits, may be able to bill as an out-of-network provider, if needed.  I would be happy to call your insurance company to see if your therapy is covered if you work with me.  When using insurance, the companies require a diagnosis for each session that is billed.  I will let you know what your mental health diagnosis is and have you sign a Release of Information form so I can bill or communicate with your insurance company.

Sliding Fee Scale:  If you don’t have insurance, I reserve some appointments for clients who need a sliding fee scale.  Please contact me if you are interested in this.

Fees:  My sessions usually last for just short of an hour and the fee is $120, with the initial appointment billed at $160.   I ask that people pay their copays each time and am willing to handle the billing of your insurance company.

Cancellation Policy:  I ask that you give me 48 hours notice if you need to cancel, otherwise I charge for the missed appointment.
